Not the End

The oceans shall rise and fall and rise
The moon shall swim across the skies
The sun shall glide on magnet ties
Upon the cosmic tide

And all will ride its course again
To tend what wills the gods may bend
So know my friend, as worlds go by
And stars pretend across the sky
And endless depths of heavens sigh
their breath upon the wind
Know in beds of what may lie
That this is not the end

No creature burned shall not unfold
The seed to turn another old
No ocean poured upon the sky
Shall not in weeping love re-lie
No star upon its final burn
Shall not churn dust, and thus return
To which the mysteries upheld
Have downward thrust in trust our weld

And even now, in minor plays
Of all the world’s entwining ways
Shall there be end to setting days
That don’t return again

So be not mad or sad of eyes
To sundered halves and wondered whys
Of thundered paths to tender lives
That fall upon their end

Tis but a bend within a path
Round which cannot be seen
Through forest halls of falling trees
That birth to other green

Tis but an earth that turns upon
An axis born of dusk and dawn
To face again a place that’s gone to dark with different light

Oh humble dream of crumbled plots
To mirror paths of cosmonauts on magnet tide
Who pass unto the other side to twirl and spin again
In ever-stretching etching ways
Of all our long forgotten days
That can’t forget the way it stays the same as we intend

So know my friend, as worlds go by
And stars pretend across the sky
And endless depths of heavens sigh
their breath upon the wind
Know in beds of what may lie
This is not the end.

Mimes of the Times

You look to the heavens
You look to the trees
You look to the winds on the breath of the seas
You look to the books and the crooks and the odds
To the mimes of the times and the signs of the Gods
But in all that will be, and in all that has been
If you’re looking outward, who’s looking in?
Have you stared the brink of stars that twinkle far within your bones?
Or known the tribes of dancing vibes that humble even stones?
Ever felt the airy pelt of wind that melts upon your tongue
And followed its breeze to capillary trees taken root upon your lung?
Do you know what it is to twinkle and fizz
In the tingling death of your cells?
Or break through the orders of natural borders
To find you’re an ocean of swells?
Have you ever felt God in a mind that’s gone dim
And without any proof, been certain it’s him?
Do you fear such a jarring perception?
Have you blamed all the world for the pains it unfurled
…and then found it was just your reflection?
What if the sum of all that you do
Is the hum of a song in a language you knew
In a tongue that you’ve all but forgotten
And every last word of that song still rings true
Even if all your notes have gone rotten…
We look to the books and the crooks and the odds
To the mimes of the times and the signs of the Gods in the climes of aversion and doubt
Consistently seeking the world that’s within
And constantly living without

Undercover

Open your mind….

With gentle hands crack the hive
of the buzzing minds you’ve still alive
as pistol-whip swarms rip crystal grip storms
tripping blazing swerves in lazy words that always sting

And then a crazy thing…

All the bees have gone away
There’s honey in your hands
And smooth as balm upon your open palms you calmly stand.

Open your heart…

Like broken glass that glints in shattered fractals of humbling light

And as the fractures of reflection
burst in slicing shards
And all the hands that play your fate
are waiting for their cards
The broken sights of shattered lights
all glint like little stars…

And somehow there’s peace
Somehow there’s silence, and then a release
As all of the violence that’s stored in our cells
Unpours in a swelling of love that propels
Our worlds into welling in pearls of untelling wisdom.

Open your soul
Open your eyes
Open the role that you came to disguise
in the goal that you’d one day discover

What on this earth makes an old soul go wise
After lifetimes of under the cover
