May You Be

As you endeavour the weighs of the world
May you stand strong in the lessons you’re hurled

May you find peace in the wars that rage on
And may you release what’s held on too long

May you forgive
And may you foresee
The way that we live is not how it must be

May you be free to figure your truth
With the wisdom of age and the vigour of youth
To rise beyond the shackles we share
With a mind as light and clear as air
To see with eyes as bright as day
That you are well and on your way

That life is unfolding at just the right pace
So may you be ready to meet it with grace

And in times that you crumble
Fumble and fall
May you be humbled
By your place in it all

May you topple your pride with humility’s beams
And may you unravel the riddle of dreams
To master your life, no matter how odd
To love every person, not matter how flawed
To always be present in this gorgeous facade
And may you not be turned off by what others call “God”

May you see through the fog
May you dance in the rain
May you shine like the sun on a wide-open plain

May you always be open to all you can be
And when your vessel is broken…
May you be free
